Yes, but only if we get to the point where we all get REALLY fast, high bandwidth Internet (e.g., fiber, 10-gigabit or more, etc.) to get the exact same performance as a traditional software program installed locally on a desktop - especially highly advanced creative software that's so resource-intensive. And I think even the browser is now an antiquated idea, everything accesses the Internet/cloud via cloud apps these days. Time will tell if Adobe will make the cloud apps (not to be confused with Cloud, brand name, programs of today that install and run on the desktop) OS-agnostic or still only access the cloud (generic sense) via Windows or Mac. If trends are any indication, however, it looks like the future of all IoT, including desktops or whatever desk-based terminal will be called in the future, will be and are today Linux-based, even according to growing Microsoft trends; I think even they see the writing on the wall. So if Adobe is looking to the future at all with IoT, they might as well start now developing the CC applications with a Linux codebase for the future, starting with Red Hat & Ubuntu desktops. Especially since Microsoft's been ROYALLY screwing up Windows 10 lately, and Windows users are already vested in thousands of dollars in PC hardware, there's never been a better argument or a better time for Adobe to make Linux versions. If they had even started program by program, little by little, YEARS ago, there wouldn't have been such enormous pressure now to get all these programs to Linux.
If Microsoft keeps neglecting basic quality control with Windows, we are going to end up with a computing crisis for those without the resources to switch to Mac hardware, and Adobe will HAVE to make Linux versions or go the way of Sears. So typical of shortsighted corporations! Look, I understand your concerns as a company that the cost, effort, etc., may not be worth it when 'the whole world runs on Windows and Mac', I get it (somewhat). But as you know, things are changing, the number one operating system in the world right now is drum roll Android, which runs on the Linux kernel, and you already make mobile versions of Creative Cloud software on Android anyway, so (I'm not a developer, but just guessing) how hard can it be to port to a desktop operating system that uses the same Linux kernel?
You might argue lack of market share/user share, but is Mac user share overall that much better? Yet you make Mac versions of CC. And how do you actually know the true desktop Linux market/user share anyway, since desktop Linux OS'es are free and therefore you can't track sales? Besides all this, there is this CRUCIAL concern overall in the current state of desktop operating systems. Both the Microsoft and Apple duopoly control of the desktop MUST.
On the one hand, you have Microsoft, which has screwed up their OS for years, and most recently has made Windows totally unstable, DELETING FILES and causing all kinds of havoc which has been well reported in the news. On the other hand, you have Apple who, if you're a Windows user and want to switch so your files aren't deleted, makes you replace your entire perfectly good hardware that you worked hard to invest in, then locks that overpriced hardware down so you can't upgrade or replace hardware when it fails - the latest example of this is their T2 chip. If Linux has such a small user base and porting to it isn't considered important enough for Adobe, why have post after post for MANY years on this site continued to this day and to this minute, and why have major companies like Blackmagic Design committed to offering Windows, Mac, AND Linux versions of DaVinci Resolve, an ADVANCED post-production suite comprising of an editor, industry-standard color corrector, effects tool, and audio tool? Why do major companies like AJA, who make I/O hardware for post-production systems, offer Linux drivers? Does the competition know something you don't or won't accept? I read all the time about more and more people switching from Windows to Linux because of all the garbage Windows has been putting people through in their workflows, and with limited resources, they don't necessarily want to start all over again buying into Mac hardware. If Adobe would port their software to Linux, you would see a TSUNAMI of new Linux users, maybe even new subscriptions.

It would bring desktop Linux to the mainstream, because you have very powerful creative software that people want to use without the OS getting in the way. If/when Creative Cloud becomes entirely cloud-based, none of us will be having this conversation, but until that day comes, we need Adobe on desktop Linux, preferably Ubuntu Linux since that's among the easiest 'flavors' for creatives (and is definitely among the friendliest for accepting both FOSS and proprietary software). At least Photoshop for a pilot project to see how that sells, before trying Premiere and After Effects? HOLY COW, I finally discovered the answer for the Error Code 3, guys! At least for my type of Error Code 3, where it could not open a particular file when trying to burn a blu-ray (either disc or image). In searching for an answer, I just happened to stumble upon the Wikipedia article for Encore, which says that AVCHD 2.0 files are not compatible for burning to blu-ray disc in Encore.
So I decided to go back into Premiere and re-export the timeline to MPEG-2 Blu-Ray, bring those files (m2v and wav) into Encore, and voila - it wrote the ISO, no problem! You know, I get the feeling that as Adobe continues to enhance its Creative Cloud products via updates, it ONLY has the high end commercial sector in mind and we little guys in the educational, government, and similar sectors are all but forgotten about. With Adobe's latest release of Premiere Pro, CC 2017.1, somehow they've.greatly. INCREASED the amount of time it takes to 'calculate audio peaks' just after doing a simple audio gain on a clip.
Granted, because we do long government meetings at 2-4 hours on a single clip, that's quite a long clip to work with, but with all versions prior to 2017.1 it still happened relatively quickly. Can you guys at Adobe start making your technology faster for those of us who deal with very long clips like the long, admittedly boring committee meetings and such? We also do some short, informational videos here and it ties up our editors for a progress bar like 'Calculating Audio Peaks' to take as long as it does before even being able to render the meeting out for our website/social media. And that's if we gain it up to the right level; sometimes it's trial and error since the Audio Gain dialog box doesn't even show us how much to gain it up because it's always calculating. We just have to pick a number based on what we're seeing in the audio meter and click OK just so it can start the forever process of 'Calculating Audio Peaks'. And just so you know, we don't have sluggard systems; they should be plenty enough for standard compressed HD - two four-core processors, 64GB system RAM, Quadro K5000, and shared media storage on a video server connected via Gigabit Ethernet.
